A spring storm swept through Southern California on Friday, bringing chilly temperatures, rain, hail, and even snow in some areas.

Residents across SoCal witnessed the unusual weather phenomenon, with reports of hail falling in various neighborhoods.

Hailstorm in SoCal:

Numerous reports emerged of hail falling across Southern California neighborhoods.

Videos captured the sight of small ice balls peppering Loyola High School in Los Angeles, while other footage showed hail coming down in a Temecula neighborhood.

The sudden hailstorm surprised many residents who were unaccustomed to such weather in the region.

Storm Conditions and Impact:

Although the storm is expected to pass through the region quickly, thunderstorms remain a possibility. A winter storm alert is in effect until 11 p.m. Friday for the San Gabriel Mountains and the 14 Freeway corridor.

Forecasters anticipate significant snow accumulations, with potential amounts of up to 10 inches above 6,000 feet.

Lower elevations could see accumulations ranging from 3 to 6 inches and 3 inches at 3,000 feet, accompanied by strong winds gusting up to 45 mph.

Winter Weather Advisory:

Additionally, a less severe winter weather advisory is in effect until 11 p.m. Friday for the Antelope Valley foothills and the 5 Freeway corridor.

These areas may experience up to 3 inches of snowfall, contributing to hazardous road conditions and reduced visibility.
