A swift-moving cold storm is forecasted to pass north of Los Angeles over the upcoming weekend, ushering in light rain and cooler temperatures across the region.

Cloud cover will progressively increase late Friday, with Saturday expected to be predominantly cloudy, accompanied by the possibility of sprinkles or drizzle.

Timing and Intensity of Rain:

The most significant chance for light rain is anticipated late Saturday through early Sunday, with precipitation amounts forecasted at approximately 0.25 inches.

While the forecasted rain isn’t expected to cause major disruptions, individuals venturing outdoors during this period may encounter wet road conditions, potentially affecting travel plans.

Weather Conditions Post-Rain:

Rainfall is projected to cease by Sunday morning, leading to lingering cloudy skies and cool temperatures across Southern California.

After experiencing temperatures in the 70s and 80s on Friday, a notable decline in temperatures is anticipated, with some areas experiencing double-digit drops. For instance, Riverside’s high is expected to decrease from 81 on Friday to 68 on Sunday.

Return to Warm and Dry Conditions:

A wind advisory is scheduled from 3 p.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday for portions of Riverside and San Bernardino counties, surrounding Palm Springs, Big Bear Lake, Victorville, and Wrightwood. Wind gusts could reach speeds of 45 to 55 mph during this period.

Following the storm’s passage, the region can anticipate a return to warm and dry weather conditions for the upcoming week.
