A woman in Los Angeles clung to the hood of a car in a desperate attempt to stop the theft of her French bulldog, a dramatic incident caught on cellphone video. ‘

The theft occurred on January 18 in downtown Los Angeles, and the owner, Ali Zacharias, was having lunch outside a Whole Foods market when she noticed her dog, Onyx, being taken by a woman.

Zacharias confronted the woman but was unsuccessful, and as the vehicle drove away, she held onto the car’s hood.

Owner Suffers Injuries, Police Investigating:

The vehicle, occupied by three women and one man, sped off with Zacharias on the hood. The owner was eventually thrown from the hood a few blocks away, suffering cuts and bruises.

Police are investigating the incident and looking for two possible suspects: a man and a woman around 25. The case may involve charges of assault with a deadly weapon due to the impact on the owner.

Scams and Tips Follow the Incident:

After the incident, Zacharias received tips, one of which turned out to be a scam where a man claimed to know where the dog was but disappeared after receiving money.

Another tip suggested seeing the French bulldog at a dollar store in Gardena, which is being investigated. Onyx is distinctive due to his mismatched eye colors.
