Southern California: Mild Conditions Followed by Weekend Rain Chance

Southern California is set to experience “Chamber of Commerce” weather conditions on Wednesday, with clear skies and temperatures reaching the upper 70s and 80s across the region. 

However, the mild weather will give way to a chance of rain over the weekend as a low-pressure system associated with the jet stream moves into the area.

Current Conditions:

Clear skies and pleasant temperatures are expected to persist for several days, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the mild weather. 

However, changes are on the horizon as a low-pressure system approaches Southern California late Friday through Sunday.

Weekend Forecast:

The arrival of the low-pressure system brings the potential for rain, though meteorologists anticipate mostly light rain and drizzle rather than heavy downpours. 

Coastal areas and valleys may receive a quarter-inch to an inch of rainfall, while higher elevations such as mountains and foothills could see up to 2 inches.

As the rain moves in, temperatures are expected to drop into the 50s and mid-60s on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, snow levels may descend to 4,500 feet, potentially leading to snowfall in higher elevations.

Forecast Beyond the Weekend:

Following the weekend rain, clear skies are forecasted to return on Monday, providing a respite from the precipitation and cooler temperatures.
