Search Underway for Suspect in Attack on Nursing Student at LATTC Campus

Authorities are actively seeking a suspect who allegedly assaulted a nursing student at the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) campus early Wednesday morning. The incident has prompted heightened security measures in the area.

Incident Details:

The assault occurred around 5:45 a.m. on the campus located on W. Washington Boulevard in South Los Angeles. 

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the victim was walking along a pathway when an unidentified suspect, described as appearing homeless, aggressively approached her with his right hand raised as if to strike her.

Victim’s Response and Injuries:

The victim, in an attempt to defend herself, backed away but ultimately fell. Fortunately, she sustained only minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation as a precautionary measure.

Investigation:

LASD investigators have obtained video footage of the attack, revealing that while the suspect’s fist did not strike the victim, there was physical contact made with his left hand before she fell. Despite this evidence, no arrests have been made thus far.

In response to the incident, patrols on the LATTC campus will be increased on Thursday to enhance safety for students and staff.
