A homeowner in Woodland Hills had an unexpected visitor on Thursday afternoon. A mountain lion was spotted lurking in her backyard, prompting a mix of surprise and caution.
Identification and Reaction:
Woodland Hills resident Corrina Bubenheim recounted when she noticed the unusual guest. Initially mistaken for a possum, she soon realized it was a mountain lion perched in an avocado tree on her property. Bubenheim humorously remarked, “I thought I was the only cougar in this house.”
Upon realizing the presence of the mountain lion, Bubenheim promptly contacted the fire department for assistance. Concerned for her safety and her pets, she sought guidance on handling the situation.
Response from Authorities:
Authorities, including animal services, were notified of the sighting. Despite efforts to capture the mountain lion, it evaded capture. Instead, officials focused on alerting nearby residents and advising them to keep their pets indoors as a precautionary measure.
