An 18-year-old female has been apprehended in connection with a series of shootings that transpired in San Pedro during January, resulting in the fatality of one individual.

Authorities have identified the suspect as Estrella Rojas, a San Pedro resident, attributing to her involvement in two separate shooting incidents occurring within two weeks.

First Shooting (January 6):

The initial shooting incident unfolded on January 6, as two assailants confronted a 19-year-old man. Upon the victim’s attempt to flee the scene, one of the assailants discharged gunfire at the victim’s vehicle, fortunately leaving him unharmed.

Approximately two weeks later, on January 20, Rojas was allegedly embroiled in an altercation at Machista, a local bar at Pacific Avenue and West 10th Street.

The Altercation and Fatal Outcome:

A physical confrontation ensued within the premises of the bar, escalating to gunfire. The suspect reportedly discharged multiple rounds, resulting in injuries to three individuals.

Tragically, one of the victims, identified as 33-year-old Tyrone Tyars, succumbed to his injuries. Two other victims, a 35-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly transported to nearby medical facilities.

Arrest and Charges:

The LAPD FBI Fugitive Task Force successfully located and apprehended Rojas on March 7 following an extensive investigation.

She now faces charges of one count of murder and 3 counts of attempted murder about the shootings above.
