In a recent survey by a panel of experts specializing in the American presidency, President Biden was ranked 14th-best president.
At the same time, his anticipated 2024 presidential challenger, former President Donald Trump, found himself at the bottom of the list.
Details of the 2024 Presidential Greatness Project Expert Survey:
The survey, known as the 2024 Presidential Greatness Project Expert Survey, took place from Nov. 15 to Dec. 31 and involved esteemed Presidents and Executive Politics Section members of the American Political Science Association, a leading authority in presidential politics.
Abraham Lincoln was hailed as America’s greatest president by the experts. Biden’s ranking surpassed that of notable figures such as Woodrow Wilson, Ronald Reagan, and Ulysses S. Grant. Former President Barack Obama rose eight spots to no. 7 compared to the previous year’s survey.

Trump Lands at the Bottom; Obama and Biden’s Divergent Rankings:
Former President Trump received the lowest ranking, placing even below historically criticized presidents like James Buchanan and Franklin Pierce.
The survey also revealed a noticeable partisan disparity in the rankings for Obama and Biden, with Democrats ranking them significantly higher than Republicans.
Partisan and Ideological Differences in Survey Results:
While the surveyors noted that partisan and ideological differences did not substantially impact the overall rankings, clear divisions emerged in how respondents from different political affiliations evaluated the legacies of Obama and Biden.
