Renowned soccer legend David Beckham reportedly initiates legal action against Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg and others over an alleged 8.5 million pounds ($16.4 million) dispute, as per reports by The Sun on April 21.
Fraudulent Conduct Allegations:
Beckham accuses Wahlberg’s Mark Wahlberg Investment Group (MWIG) and gym group F45’s founders of ‘fraudulent conduct,’ claiming he was misled during business dealings with Wahlberg.
In 2022, Beckham’s firm DB Ventures Ltd began litigation against Wahlberg’s F45 Training, alongside Australian golf entrepreneur Greg Norman. However, the court mandated separate presentations of their cases.
Allegations and Claims:
Both Beckham and Norman allege they were deceived by Wahlberg into becoming ambassadors for F45 Training. Beckham further claims losses exceeding 8.5 million pounds due to withheld stocks before share prices plummeted.
Wahlberg and co-defendants refute all allegations, dismissing them as baseless. Wahlberg criticizes Beckham’s company, stating they are deflecting blame onto others.
Historical Connection:
Beckham and Wahlberg, who were once neighbors in Beverly Hills, share a historical connection dating back to Beckham’s move to Los Angeles in 2007.
Beckham’s past promotion of F45 on Instagram is highlighted, with deleted posts raising questions amidst the ongoing legal dispute.
