Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who purchased their luxurious Los Angeles mansion in September 2019, have reportedly vacated the property due to water damage issues leading to a mold infestation.
The couple’s grand residence became the subject of a legal battle initiated in May 2023, and they have since moved into another property with their two-year-old daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
Lavish LA Mansion Features:
The LA mansion, bought for $20 million after their grand wedding in Rajasthan, reportedly boasts seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a temperature-controlled wine room, an indoor basketball court, an interior bowling alley, a home theater, an entertainment lounge, a spa with a steam shower, a full-service gym, and a billiards room. Priyanka had previously shared glimpses of the property on Instagram.
Water Damage and Legal Battle:
Water damage issues in the pool and spa area and a water leak at the barbecue area were cited in a lawsuit filed in May 2023. These problems allegedly rendered the residence ‘virtually unlivable’ and ‘dangerous from a health perspective.’
Priyanka and Nick are seeking consequential damages from the seller, and the costs for repair are estimated to exceed $1.5 million, with general damages around $2.5 million.
Rescinding Purchase and Seeking Compensation:
The lawsuit claims the water damage and related issues require rescinding the purchase and sale agreement.
Priyanka and Nick’s attorneys stated that the couple is seeking reimbursement for repair costs, compensation for loss of use, and other damages caused by the seller’s conduct.
The exact costs are yet to be determined, but the complaint indicates the substantial financial impact of the waterproofing issues on the property.
